Born in Hokkaido in Japan, a graduate of Musashino Art College, Yuma has resided in New York City since 1968.
Throughout her lives both as painter/performance artist and mother, she has painted continuously for decades, both in acrylic and oil.
After a solo exhibition at the Ithea gallery (New York) in 2003, Yuma chose the path of a professional painter, and has done numerous shows and exhibitions throughout NYC and Japan.
"I create my works to celebrate my thoughts of gratitude, the Mystery of Life and the impulse of creation.
For that reason, most of my creations are based on the harmonic waves of love, great universal power, and the deep mystery of life and death.
How wonderful Life is !"

After the World Trade Center tragedy, I painted for people who died there.
Where are they going? I had to do something as an artist, so I used my imagination to show the way of their road to the spirit world, led by an angel.
